With today’s options for replacing teeth, no one has to continue to suffer loose dentures. For patients seeking an economical way to eliminate denture slippage, Dr. Eva offers removable snap-in dentures. She places a minimum of two implants in the lower jaw and three in the upper, depending on bone availability, to stabilize the denture. Each implant is topped with a special metal attachment designed to fasten to another attachment on the denture. The denture itself snaps onto the implants, keeping it in place. The denture can be snapped in and out at any time, and is usually removed by the patient at night for cleaning. Because it is securely attached to the implants, the denture doesn’t slip when eating or speaking and provides up to 50 percent of natural chewing power.
To ensure a predictable outcome, Dr. Eva uses state-of-the-art 3D imaging and 3D treatment planning technology. 3D imaging (a dental 3D CT scan) allows Dr. Eva to determine the amount of bone in the jaw and highlights the location of the muscles and nerves. He then uses special 3D implant planning software to virtually create the dentures and precisely plan out the position of each implant, with the end result always in mind.
Using the 3D software, Dr. Eva also creates a surgical guide to aid her in the placement of the implants during the surgical procedure. This makes the surgery fast, efficient and accurate.
